-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our family just returned from the DR after booking a fabulous trip with Tana and First Choice Travel.

This trip was so needed after a challenging year. The sun, sand, incredible weather, and the people were such a healing and restful treat. We did realize how the stress penetrated our lives, and this trip was a huge reset!

I am so grateful to Tana, she spend so much time with us ensuring we were comfortable. I am forever grateful!!

Majestic Mirage in Punta Cana

Food was great! Especially at ala carte. We we  always found things we really loved. Buffett’s were as expected tons of choices.

Drinks were fantastic they had almost everything in terms of liquor as well as top shelf stuff too! Poolside/ beachside service was top notch as well. Also at the preshow/ show they had great service.

Room was awesome and super high end. The rooftop was awesome to get sun while being alone. The resort itself was not super crowded! Butler service was good. We had him making reservations, bringing water to our room, getting our jacuzzi ready, bringing bottle of liquor.

Overall we would go back! We miss a lot of the staff already!

Thank you for your help!

Susan Sucharski went to the Royalton Bavaro and stayed in a Luxury Junior Suite Oceanview Diamond Club
room and below you will find her update....5 bottles of Champagne, I am impressed!!!!

     Hi Mary-
Right now I am wishing I was back at the Royalton deciding where to eat next.  It did have several issues that were mainly due to the newness of the property.  The main one that we encountered was waiting almost 5 hours for a room when we arrived.  By the time we left the resort, this problem was being addressed.  It had all to do with the butler assigning.  There were also a few problems with the structure itself that were mainly construction issues.

It is a very large property.  It is about a half mile walk from the beach to the main lobby.  The Diamond Club area is near the beach.  The food is probably the best that I have ever had at an all-inclusive.  We ate at all the restaurants.  The only complaint that I heard from anyone is that there could have been more sauce on the pasta at the Italian restaurant.  The lobster that we had at the Ocean side restaurant was local and not what we are used to-but good.  Near the beach are two restaurants-one that doubles as a buffet area for breakfast and lunch.  We used this buffet quite a bit.  Also on the beach are two beach restaurants, one has a food truck.  We ate our lunches mainly at the barbecue grill area.  The Italian restaurant and another bar are halfway to the lobby.  In the lobby area, there are two restaurants and a huge buffet area also two great bars.  No matter where we ate dinner we always spent the evening sitting in the lobby near the martini bar.  There was music, dancing and sometimes entertainment.  The entertainment tent had some shows that need work.  But we didn’t mind because we were having a great time in the lobby.

The rooms are large with a great deal of storage space.  Two sinks and the shower had two rain type shower heads with a bench.  Refrigerator always was stocked with two cans or regular beer, two cans of lite beer, six various cans of pepsi, water, juices, tonic water, seltzer water, and milk.  Good mattresses and I did pick a pillow from the pillow menu.  Wardrobe had a great safe, umbrella, ironing board and iron.  There also was a jetted whirlpool tub on an angle that  I thought was really in the way.  Very clean!  Loved the balcony.  We had an ocean view but Jane and Gary had an alley view.  She didn’t complain due the fact that we didn’t get our rooms until 9pm the night of arrival and were tired.

This property is great for families.  There were tons of kids but it wasn’t a problem.  The kids water area is in the center of the property and it is great, lazy river, etc.  There also is a kids club area with a building and playground equipment.  The upscale restaurant that has an upcharge was not open and the casino also was not open.  The gift shop has a little jewelry, perfume, clothing and beach supplies.

This is not a good resort for the elderly with walkers or canes or handicapped because of the walk to the lobby area for those restaurants and entertainment.

All the men were in shorts in the evening in the restaurants.  The women were dressed in resort casual in the restaurants and in the lobby.  That means anything goes for the women.

It was not possible to get change for American money at the lobby desk.  It would be good to take $50.00 in singles and also $5.00 bills for tipping.  Also reading material because none is available to purchase.

The beaches are absolutely beautiful.  Could not go in the ocean because of the waves and undertow.  It is the start of summer down there so windy and high waves.  It rained every day, sometimes three times a day but it dries up quickly.  Loved the different changes in the weather.  There is a very large amount of beach chairs and lounges.

In the end, in spite of new property problems, I loved the property.  I would recommend the diamond level of booking because the butler gets the reservations for the restaurants.  Also, if the client drinks any alcohol, anything you want is available.  Also the diamond level area has a reception room with round-the-clock food and cocktails.  I’m sure that Jane and I had 5 bottles of champagne while playing cards.  If anyone has any questions, they can call or email me.

 Thanks for recommending the property-Susan
